Kathleen Vollman, MSN, RN, CCNS, FCCM, FCNS, FAAN
Ms Vollman is a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist and Consultant.  She has published & lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of pulmonary, critical care, prevention of health care acquired injuries including pressure injury and CAUTI/CLABSI’s and other HAI’s, work culture and sepsis recognition & management.  She serves as a subject matter expert on these topics for the American Hospital Association and Michigan Hospital Association.   From 1989 to 2003 she functioned in the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Medical ICU’s at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan.  Currently her company, ADVANCING NURSING LLC, is focused on creating empowered work environments for healthcare practitioners through the acquisition of better skills, attainment of greater knowledge, and implementation of process improvement.

Breakout Session A: Generating New Knowledge or Implementing Scientific Evidence - Comparing and Contrasting the PhD and DNP
Presented by Elissa Harmon, DNP, RN, CCRN, PHNA-BC, Susan Rux, PhD, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CNE, CPCC, CPRW, FACHE, LNCC, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, OCN, PHN, PNAP, & Krista Schroeder, PhD, RN 
Dr. Harmon completed her Graduate level education and post-master certificate in Nursing Education at Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing, and her DNP at Widener University. Dr. Harmon has more than 40 years of nursing experience, with 35 years in the critical care setting. As a Coordinator of Patient Care Services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and clinical faculty at Community College of Philadelphia, she blends her commitment to critical care nursing with her interest in education and evidence-based practice to promote positive patient outcomes. Dr. Harmon has supported interprofessional education as a facilitator with Jefferson’s Health Mentor Program for the past 10 years. Within the medical intensive care unit at Jefferson, she led the implementation of nurse-driven rounds with her interdisciplinary colleagues, and continues to incorporate aspects of ICU liberation into nursing practice.
Dr. Rux is the Associate Vice President of Nursing Education, Professional Development and Practice Innovation with Temple University Health System (TUHS). Dr.Rux is an award-winning nurse leader with greater than 28 years of diverse nursing experience. Her education consists of graduating from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, a Master’s degree in nursing as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, a Post Master’s in Nursing Education, and a PhD in Nursing Science and Research from Widener University. She received a Post Master’s in Nursing Administration from Villanova University. Most recently, she finished the degree requirements for a second doctorate, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), from Walden University. Her intentional work and research on preventing incivility in the nursing workplace has brought international awareness to the divisive concerns of incivility in the nursing work environments, and she has advanced best practice strategies to create healthy workplaces. Dr.Rux served as a member of the task force for the American Nurses Association Professional Panel for Incivility, Bullying, and Workplace Violence. Additionally, she holds numerous professional memberships, certifications, and fellowships spanning the administrative, education, and practice domains.
Dr. Schroeder is a nurse scientist who studies how social determinants of health influence obesity risk. Her work takes a population health approach that leverages geographic information systems (GIS), spatial analytic approaches, and large datasets. Dr. Schroeder’s passion for improving well-being by addressing social determinants of health arises from her clinical practice as an intensive care unit nurse. Dr. Schroeder completed a BSN at Bloomsburg University, a PhD and NIH T32 pre-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University, and a NIH T32 postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Temple University College of Public Health.

Breakout Session B: Shining a Spotlight - Writing for Publication
Presented by Denise Drummond Hayes, MSN, RN, CRNP
Drummond Hayes received her BSN from Gwynedd Mercy University, her MSN from Villanova University, and a post-Masters NP certificate in Acute Adult Care from Drexel University. Denise has over 25 years of adult critical care experience and has spent the last 22 years working as the Senior Clinical Editor for Nursing journal, Wolters Kluwer/Lippincott publishing. Denise has been an American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor since 1979. Denise has authored numerous professional nursing journal articles, and has presented at various nursing conferences, both at the local and national levels.

General Session: Navigating the Path to Successful Project Implementation in Healthcare
Presented by Alessia Rossillo, BSN, RN, CCRN, & Erica Zabala, BSN, RN, CCRN
Rossillo is a critical care nurse in the Cardiothoracic ICU at Temple University Hospital, where she began her career as a new to practice nurse. She also practices as an aesthetic nurse injector at a local medical spa. Along with other CICU colleagues, Rossillo has presented at AACN NTI conferences for the past two years. Rossillo values continued education and providing the best care to her patients in both clinical settings.
Zabala
has served as a critical care nurse in the Cardiothoracic ICU at Temple University Hospital for over five years. She is currently in her third year of the FNP track in the DNP program at Temple University. Zabala has participated in the AACN's CSI program, stands as a former recipient of the Daisy Award, and has showcased her expertise as a speaker and presenter at recent NTI conferences. Alongside her clinical role, Zabala serves as a teaching assistant for undergraduates enrolled in Temple University's nursing program.

Breakout Session E: Entrepreneurship in Nursing
Presented by Tanya Bronzell-Wynder, DNP, CRNP, NP-C, ANP-BC, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC
Dr. Bronzell-Wynder is the CEO and Founder of Lifecycles Health Center and Services, a nurse-managed health center located in Camden, New Jersey. She has been an RN for over 29 years and a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for 20 years. Dr. Wynder received her BSN from Temple University and MSN from Gwynedd Mercy University as an Adult Health NP. She later received her Post Master's Certificate as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP from Thomas Jefferson University and a Post Master’s Certificate as a Family NP from Maryville University. Dr. Wynder finished her educational climb with her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Thomas Jefferson University, and she is a contributing faculty member at both Walden University and LaSalle University. Dr. Wynder had the privilege to be selected for the Carpenter Community Nursing Fellowship through the NNCC, which she completed in 2015, and she received the Sandra Festa Ryan award for social innovation in nursing care in 2015 from Thomas Jefferson University. Her most recent publication is Lung Transplant for the Critical Care Nurse DOI: 10.1016/j.cnc.2019.05.001. Dr. Wydner established Lifecycles Health Center and Services in 2016, in a low income high rising building in Camden, New Jersey to serve the underprivileged population through health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. Dr. Wynder continues to work as a nurse practitioner on the lung transplant service at Temple University Hospital.

Breakout Session F: Writing a Successful Abstract for Poster or Podium Presentation
Presented by Courtney Eger, MLIS & Jenny Pierce, MLIS
Courtney Eger, MLIS, is the Learning and Engagement Librarian at Temple University’s Health Sciences Libraries. In this role, she is responsible for coordinating instruction for Temple University health sciences students, faculty, and staff. Courtney also organizes outreach activities for health sciences students through special events, social media, and passive programming. She is the subject librarian for Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the College of Public Health. Prior to Temple University, Courtney worked for 12 years as a community college reference and instruction librarian.
Jenny Pierce, MLIS, is the Head of Research, Education and Outreach at Temple University Health Sciences Libraries. She provides reference service and education to faculty and staff at Temple University’s Health Science Campus as well as clinical staff at Temple University Hospital. Her educational work focuses on teaching effective searching skills, critical appraisal of resources, and supporting faculty and staff publishing practices. Jenny previously worked at the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine and the AIDS Library at Philadelphia FIGHT.
